Christmas Cheer

Every year, we celebrate Christmas at my parents house. Enjoying each other's company and spending some quality time, I really cherish these moments. We decorate the table and almost always have seafood. We ended it with my favorite pastries, rainbow cookies and some really amazing egg nog.

Hope you all had a great holiday with your loved ones!

Happy Last Friday of the Year!

1. Every year my best friend's fiance throws an ugly Christmas sweater party. We had so much fun! I kind of liked my "ugly" sweater!

2.  Getting to watch my boyfriend and his teammates play football makes waking up early on a Sunday worth it!

3. I love having a physical planner to write in and I found this fab one at Marshalls! I truly believe 2013 holds the key to some amazing things!

4. I've never been a fan of egg nog but this one has me hooked!

5. Christmas Day was amazing. Spent it with the people that mean the most. We ended it with a game of Wii Bowling, and I won!

It's tea time

Only a year ago, I was off to Dallas for my friend Yesenia's wedding. It was now time to celebrate her baby shower. Crazy how time flies! Since she's living in California now, and most of her friends are on the east coast, we had a baby shower at a friend's house in Connecticut. The theme was Wonderland Tea Party! Themed parties are always fun, and we worked really hard getting everything just right. We wore hats, flowers and white gloves. We woke up early to make some really delicious finger food! I cut all the fresh flowers and placed them along the tables. Throughout the shower we played baby games, opened gifts and talked about the memories we all share. Most of us are college friends and Yesenia is the first one to be married and the first one having a baby so this day was kind of a big deal. Spending the time together really meant a lot to me because we don't get to do this as often as we like. We're busy women who live in different parts of the country, and it's really hard to find the time, so this was really special for me. I probably cried about 8 times, because moments like these remind me that we're "growing up" and things are changing. Yesenia is such a huge part of my life and a huge part of the person I've become. I don't get to tell her that enough, especially because it makes me so emotional! It's hard to find friends who touch your life in such an amazing way. I couldn't be happier for her and I can't wait to share the baby's birth with you!

Friday before Christmas!

1. Came home yesterday to find this Salvatore Ferragamo bag under the tree. Trying really hard not to peek! 4 more days!!

2.  This week my friend Shira graduated from Grad school. I haven't seen her in a while, so we finally had a chance to catch up and celebrate! I'm so proud of her!

3. I had a meeting with Lucky Magazine this week, and they gave us this fab H&M necklace, along with their Ultimate Style Guide and their January issue!

4. This week I also attended OK! & Star Magazine's Holiday Party. It's always fun to get dressed up, and mingle!

5. Power 105.1 (Top Hip Hop station in NY) celebrated their morning show's 2 year anniversary with this yummy cake and a concert featuring TI, Swizz Beatz, A$AP Rocky, and more. It was awesome, and the best part was getting to catch up with some old friends!

Jingle all the Way!

Everyone knows what Z100's Jingle Ball is all about. If you don't, you must be living under a rock. It's the biggest concert of the year! Jingle Ball is held in NY, LA, Miami and Philadelphia. This year's artists included Justin Beiber, One Direction, The Wanted, Ne-Yo, Jason Mraz, Taylor Swift and more. The line up was a little young for my taste but still awesome.

The day started with the All Access Lounge at the Hammerstein Ballroom. A full day of performances, special appearances, contests, meet & greets and screaming fans trying to win tickets to the actual show. After hours of catching up with some old friends and trying to fight my way through millions of screaming girls, I ended up spending the rest of my time upstairs in the VIP area charging my phone.

Then it was show time. I've been attending this show for 5 years now, and not once have I sat in my seat. It's usually more fun hanging out at the VIP bar and watching from behind the stage, while mingling with really amazing people. When Justin Beiber took the stage, I lost my hearing. I don't understand the hype, but I guess it's kind of like being 12 again and obsessing over Justin Timberlake. Afterwards it was off to the after party. With specialty drinks and a night full of laughs, it was everything I had hoped it would be!

It's Finally Friday!

1. My December Birchbox came yesterday! So excited about the $50 Rent the Runway gift card, as I have a lot of parties coming up!

2.  Last Friday was Z100's Jingle Ball and I was invited to attend the All Access Lounge, Concert and After Party. It was pretty awesome. Post to come!

3. This week I scored some last minute tickets to Jason Mraz at Madison Square Garden. If you haven't seen him live, you're missing out!

4. I also made myself a fabulous fruit salad!

5. Hurricane Sandy's damages are still effecting a lot of families. A group of us from work got together and volunteered our time, which is so little to what most have been doing, but it felt really good. People were very appreciative that we were there.

Glamour's Women of the Year

Every year Glamour magazine publishes a special Women of the Year issue. Along with the release of the issue, they hold an awards show at Carnegie Hall. This year, I was invited.

When we walked up, the red carpet was spread out and photographers were swarming. I wasn't sure who was being honored, but while standing on line to get in, the amazing Anna Wintour was standing behind us. I tried not to freak out/take 100 pictures, but the fact that she was standing in the same line as me, was a surreal moment.  As we found our seats, the awards show began. Many of the winners were women most of us love. Lena Dunham was awarded with The Voice of a Generation award, Jenna Lyons (who I love) was awarded with The Fashion Original award and Annie Leibovitz with The Visionary award. The one that stood out the most to me was Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. She won the Lifesaver award for her Oscar winning Documentary called Saving Face, where she tells the story of women who have been attacked by their husbands with acid. When they presented her the award, she brought up one of the women she featured in the film. Everyone started crying as she spoke words of wisdom and strength. It was as amazing as it sounds.

On the way out, they handed us really great goodie bags, and I left feeling extremely empowered! Women really do have more power than we're given credit for.

Happy Friday!

1. This week I had a meeting at the Rolling Stone office. After what seemed like forever I was given a tour of their famous Hallway of covers. They have every cover from the first to the most recent. It was really cool!

2.  I do not cook. Ever. So this week I learned how to make spaghetti. Lame I know, but an accomplishment for me.

3. I'd like to thank Details Magazine for putting this beautiful man on this month's cover.

4. In NY, there's always something going on. So when I found out about this free Q&A with Matt Damon and John Krasinski, I just had to go! The audience was able to interact with them and ask questions about their upcoming movie, Promised Land.

5. My girlfriends and I had dinner this week, and as I turned the page of the menu, this little guy was sitting there. It's fate.
