A little trip...

My family and I really enjoy just picking a place to head to for a day and explore. I've been to Philadelphia before, but never had the time to take a double decker tour bus around the city. This time we did, and we saw more then I thought we would in one day. We hopped on and hopped off at different stops. Here's a photo recap of my "little" trip.

We started off at the Reading Market, where I had this amazing grilled cheese and Shirley Temple!

When we got off at Antique Row, we stumbled upon this great Vintage Flea Market.
I cannot resist a flea market!

Found this ring on the first table I saw, and had to have it!

Walking through the market, I found these letters from 1955. They're all from the same person to the same person. They have some juicy conversations and it's a piece of history that I'm looking forward to finding more about. My idea is to find the person who wrote the letters and send it back to them.
I'll be sure to keep you all updated!

Upfont Season is Here!

Working in media, we attend Cable and Prime Network Upfronts each Spring. What's an upfront you ask? It's pretty much flashy presentations to kick off negotiations with advertisers over fall prime-time programming. These presentations are usually followed by pretty awesome parties.

I've been invited to a couple so far, but the only one I've had time to attend was MTV. Last year, I was only able to make it to the party (not complaining) so this year I decided to make time for the presentation and party. Instead of taking the train, MTV sent a lovely shuttle bus to take us to the Beacon Theater, where I'll never forget seeing N'SYNC on World Aids Day 1999 (fun fact). Anyway, we sat through a presentation where MTV explained who their audience is and how well their ratings are. They introduced new shows and recapped existing shows. Then it was off to party at the Roseland Ballroom.

Last year they had casts from their shows in booths taking pictures with fans. This year it was the complete opposite. The celebrities were walking around with us "regular" folk. Of course, every girl was pining after Vinny from Jersey Shore. Luckily, I have a friend who is on Guy Code and he introduced me and a friend to him.

They had an awesome green screen where we took pictures and then "spray painted" them with our own design. Everything was digital, and was pretty cool. So cool, we went back 4 times.

Recently, my friend was "catfished". Yes, this is now a verb. So we made a point to tell Nev about it! He gave us some great advice. This was the second time I met him in the last couple of months, and he's a pretty awesome person. Cute too, which adds to his awesomeness (is that a real word?)
All in all it was a great night. I didn't end up in flats, but I'm sure I will in the coming weeks.

High Five for Friday!

1. Last night I was invited to a private concert to see New Kids on the Block. It was amazing!

2.  I'm not one for March Madness and basketball, so me and a friend came up with the "Stud Muffin Bracket" between beautiful celebrity men. It came pretty close, down to Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. Leo always wins ;)

3. My boyfriend is pretty awesome. Yellow flowers are my favorite!

4. My amazing friend bought a groupon for a painting class. It was so much fun! Painting, wine and jazz music. We're definitely going back soon!

5. Last week, I had dinner with MTV and we ordered this amazing dessert. Leopard print brownies!
